bonnie-benchmark not enough data
Added by Ben Blankenberg about 1 year ago
I am having some issues running the bonnie++ benchmark. I have one volume on this server that is 4.5TB in size and has 4.5TB of free space. When attempting to run the benchmark I get the message below. How do I get bonnie++ to generate more data so I can run the benchmark?
nmc@mad-nex:/$ run benchmark bonnie-benchmark Volume 'datapool' is the only available volume, starting benchmark... datapool: running optimal mode benchmark datapool: generating 32742MB files, using 32768 blocks datapool: started 2 benchmark processes datapool: this may take a few minutes, please wait or press Ctrl-C to interrupt Not enough data to generate I/O performance report.
Please make sure volume selected for benchmark has enough free space; see help (-h) for more information.

I asked around on your question and this is the response i recieved.
Yep this is a bug in nmc-bonnie++. Command line options in bonnie++ binary changed. Workaround is to copy old binary from a 3.0.5 system.

Problem still exists is 3.1.2
Any chance this will get fixed in 3.1.3?

it is not fixed in 3.1.3 yet. guess need to find info on copying the old binary... or can run it without the wrapper as found here; [[http://serverfault.com/questions/230520/new-nexentastor-installation-cant-run-bonnie]]

Checking with our developers on when this may be addressed in the production release.
