disk-check runner

Added by Ron Halstead about 1 year ago

On NexentaStor 3.1.2, the disk-check runner goes into maintenance mode hourly. It appears that it is banging on the DVD player in the machine and gets a device not ready. Is there a way to stop the DVD player from being check. The fault message is:

This is currently a bug. You can stop it by disabling the dvd drive in the bios.. or somehow unplug it

I can't disable it in the bios. I put a blank dvd in the drive. I should know in an hour if that works. If so, I'll report back

A blank disk in the drive did not band-aid the problem. Oh well. Thanks for your help Linda.

can you unplug the drive though?

lemme add this to the bug.

I can unplug the drive but its a mjor undertaking. The machine is boxed in by another computer and my desk.

The bios is really so crippled you can't disable that port? Yuck...

I added this thread to the bug.

Yup. Yuk. Old bios, old machine. Now that I'm working again, I probably build a new one.
