Reboots when installed to USB drive

Added by Justin M about 1 year ago

My test install really isn't going very well. Fired up an install on a new little test desktop, and installed it to my USB drive. Install went fine. Boot to the USB Drive and it gets to Grub and loads the 32/64 bit option, but a few seconds in to loading it flashes a screen and reboots. Boots into safemode fine. Found a thread on here with a very similar problem, and one guy mentioned it wasn't able to find the root drive or something. So I installed it to the hd on the box and its working fine. Of course I want to use the hd for tests and the usb disk for the OS. Anyone have any fixes for this?

Thanks

Sometimes we run across incompatable usb drives.. most likely the culprit.

You can try a boot -v to see if we can additional info..

Ok, thanks. I'll try a different drive and let you know.
